This policy explains how Harmonic Acoustics Consulting (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit this website or get in touch with us. Last updated: 13 October 2026.

what we collect

When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. If you email or phone us directly, we receive whatever you choose to send, along with your contact details.

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used – for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. This is reported to us in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individual people, and we do not use advertising or profiling tools.

how we use it

We use your details to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project and prepare a quote or proposal. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

If you then appoint us, we use your information to deliver the work, and keep project and financial records to meet our contractual and legal obligations. We will not send you marketing, and we never sell or share your information for others’ marketing.

how the contact form works

Messages sent through the form are delivered to us by email. They are not stored in the website’s database, and the website does not record your IP address against your message.

To protect the form from spam, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being used by a person. To do this Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

third-party services

This website is hosted by DigitalOcean on servers in London. The map on our Contact page is loaded from OpenStreetMap, whose servers receive your IP address when the map loads, as with any web request. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

We use Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited. It processes technical information such as your IP address, device and browser, and the pages you view. See Google’s privacy policy.

Emails from this website, including replies to your enquiry, are sent through Brevo, which processes the message and your email address in order to deliver it.

cookies

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing is loaded until you choose: if you decline, Google Analytics never runs and sets nothing. If you accept, it sets cookies so it can tell repeat visits from new ones and measure how the site is used.

You can change your choice at any time, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser. Google also offers a browser opt-out add-on.

The spam check on the contact form may use similar technology, only to carry out that security check.

how long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to an appointment for [TBC: confirm period], unless there is a lawful reason to retain them for longer. Where we are appointed, we retain project and financial records for [TBC: confirm period] after the commission ends, subject to legal, contractual and professional requirements.

your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it to you. To make a request, email paul@harmonic-acoustics.co.uk.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
